Case study: Landing page for a webinar

--

I’m not affiliated with Paytm in any capacity, and the views for this case study are strictly my own. This case study was done to enhance my learning experience and to challenge myself to learn something new. This project was done as part of the 10k Designers assignment.

About Paytm

Paytm is India’s largest mobile payments and commerce platform. Paytm is used for cashless transactions like online recharges, utility bill payments, booking movies, or travel tickets on the Paytm app or website.

In a hurry? Here’s a short video explanation of my case study

📋Problem Statement

To design a landing page for a website to talk about the event, showcase why someone should attend it, and accept registrations.

🗣Target Audience

  1. Any Student
  2. A person with no capital but interested in learning and invest
  3. A person interested in Investments

📝Research

I couldn’t find online events for Paytm, so I looked for similar Webinars. After searching several websites, I discovered that a few companies, such as RazorPay, conduct similar webinars.
After speaking with a few users who work in the finance/fintech niche, I learned that investment is a hot topic in the Finance/Fintech niche. After looking at all of these websites, I realized that none of them offered project opportunities. I came up with the idea of conducting a three-day event. Day 1 provides a summary of the next two days.
On Day 1, Guest Speakers share their knowledge and experience on how to find the right sources, various types of investments, and how to find reliable sources. Days 2 and 3 are for users to practice their skills by working on a project. On the third day, they present their ideas to the panel. Some company hires the top three winners. Day 2 and Day 3 will be paid whereas Day 1 will be free.
Users who are interested in gathering information can attend the Day 1 Webinar as it is free but users who really want in-depth knowledge and want to learn skills can register for Day 2 and Day 3.

📊Information Architecture

I listed what kind of information needs to be shown on the website’s landing page. Here’s how data can be structured on the landing page.

📑Wireframe

Pen-paper is my comfy approach to start with any wireframe. It saves time and helps me give a clear idea for Visual Designs.

Wireframe for Desktop Web View

Low Fidelity and High Fidelity Wireframes
Wireframe of Pricing and Contact Us

Wireframe for Phone Web View

Low Fidelity and High Fidelity Wireframes

📏Learnings

This assignment helped me understand and learn some important factors in designing :

  • Organized my work making sure I had enough research before beginning with designs.
  • It is important to find the right inspiration for your Visual Design.
  • Iteration plays an important role so does feedback.

Conclusion

And that’s a wrap!!! Thank you for reading my case study, I hope it was insightful. I absolutely loved every bit of the process while designing it.

I would like to thank Devesh Pawar for helping and pushing me to find inspiration. Also would like to thank Aboli Joshi and Swapnil Borkar for guiding and giving me feedback.
