This case study was a conceptual assignment I did as a part of 10kdesigners.

Drink Up Screens

Problem Statement

The goal was to create a mobile e-commerce experience, to browse the catalog, find items they’re looking for, initiate checkout, and complete the purchase.

In a hurry? Here’s a short video of prototype

🤭Storytime!

From my previous case study, y’all came to know that I’m a big-time foodie.
So I was ordering pizza🍕 and needed something to drink. I don’t like drinking soda so much. So I decided to find out what goes well with pizza, and guess what? I found that pizza goes great with beer🍻.

This got my attention, and I began looking for an app that would deliver alcoholic drinks home.

Why design this app?
A couple of apps caught my attention which offered home-delivery services for the same.
My observation: Most of them only delivered liquor🍾
That’s when I decided to design an app that not only delivers alcoholic drinks but also products and equipment.

Few other features :

  • 🍹Recipe section which includes both cocktail and mocktail recipes.
  • 🎁There are two options for gifting: Gift Recommendations, such as a bottle of wine, or the user can choose to present a Gift Voucher.
  • 🥤Soft drinks can also be ordered on this app.
Four types of users

User Persona

Based on User Interview

I implemented another method to approach users. I tried to reach out to as many younger generation as I could via “Instagram Poll”

💡An interesting tip from the users: People prefer to give a gift voucher that allows another user to purchase their favoured beverage.

This stage helped me to clearly define and represent how the user will navigate through the app and the information/metadata to be displayed on the screens.

The future scope for this app is to make a flow for : To order food 🍱 and Kitchen and Bar 🥂, where users can order food.

And that’s a wrap!!

Good to see you read till here. Hope you found it insightful to take away some point for yourself.

I want to thank Abhinav Chikkara for coming up with this assignment and giving me feedback.

Special thanks to Aboli Joshi for the constant feedback on this assignment.
